Time 40m

Yield 1 pie, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup Bisquick
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs

Steps:

  • Beat all ingredients together until well blended.
  • Pour into 9 inch round glass dish or similar container for baking.
  • Bake about 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. A knife in the center should come out clean. Cool for at least 15 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use fresh buttermilk. Fresh buttermilk will give your pie a more tangy and flavorful taste. If you don't have fresh buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of regular milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes before using.
  • Don't overbeat the eggs. Overbeaten eggs can make your pie tough. Beat them just until they are combined.
  • Bake the pie in a preheated oven. This will help the pie to cook evenly.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the pie to set.

Conclusion:

Buttermilk pie is a classic Southern dessert that is easy to make and always a hit. With its creamy, tangy filling and flaky crust, it's the perfect pie for any occasion. Follow these tips for making the best buttermilk pie, and you'll be sure to impress your friends and family.
