Tips:

  • Use a food processor to quickly and easily chop the cranberries, nuts, and orange zest.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can chop the cranberries, nuts, and orange zest by hand. Just be sure to chop them finely so that they distribute evenly throughout the pie.
  • Be sure to measure the flour and sugar correctly. Too much or too little of either ingredient can affect the texture and flavor of the pie.
  • When mixing the dough, be sure to work it just until it comes together. Overworking the dough will make it tough.
  • If the dough is too dry, add a little bit of ice water one tablespoon at a time until it comes together.
  • If the dough is too wet, add a little bit of flour one tablespoon at a time until it is no longer sticky.
  • When rolling out the dough, be sure to use a lightly floured surface to prevent the dough from sticking.
  • Trim the edges of the dough so that they are even. This will help the pie to bake evenly.
  • Do not overfill the pie crust. Otherwise, the filling will bubble over and make a mess.
  • Bake the pie in a preheated oven. This will help to ensure that the pie bakes evenly.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will allow the filling to set and the flavors to develop.

This classic cranberry pie is a delicious and festive dessert that is perfect for any occasion.
