Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork: For pulled pork, select a pork shoulder or butt roast. These cuts have a good amount of marbling, which will help keep the meat moist and tender during the cooking process.
  • Use a slow cooker or Dutch oven: These cooking methods allow the pork to cook low and slow, which helps to break down the connective tissue and make the meat fall-apart tender.
  • Add liquid to the slow cooker or Dutch oven: This will help to keep the pork moist and prevent it from drying out. You can use water, chicken broth, or apple cider vinegar.
  • Season the pork liberally: Use a combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. You can also add other spices and herbs, such as cumin, chili powder, or oregano.
  • Cook the pork until it is fall-apart tender: This will take about 8-10 hours on low in a slow cooker or 6-8 hours on low in a Dutch oven.
  • Shred the pork: Once the pork is cooked, use two forks to shred it into small pieces.
  • Serve the pork on buns or rolls: Top with your favorite toppings, such as barbecue sauce, coleslaw, and pickles.

Conclusion:

Shredded pork sandwiches are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can have a mouthwatering meal that your family and friends will love.
