Tips for Making the Best 'Shilas Grandmother's Picante de Carne'

  • Use high-quality ground beef: The type of ground beef you use will significantly impact the flavor of the dish. Look for ground beef that is at least 80% lean and has a good amount of marbling.
  • Brown the ground beef well: Don't overcrowd the pan when browning the ground beef. This will prevent it from steaming instead of browning. Cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it is browned all over.
  • Use a variety of spices: This recipe uses a blend of spices, including chili powder, cumin, oregano, and garlic powder. Feel free to adjust the spices to your liking. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a bit of heat.
  • Don't skip the tomatoes: The tomatoes add a lot of flavor and acidity to the dish. If you don't have fresh tomatoes, you can use canned diced tomatoes.
  • Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes: This will allow the flavors to meld and develop. The longer you simmer the sauce, the better it will taste.
  • Serve with your favorite toppings: This dish is typically served with rice, beans, and shredded cheese. You can also add sour cream, guacamole, or salsa.

Conclusion

'Shilas Grandmother's Picante de Carne' is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is packed with flavor and can be tailored to your liking. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty dinner, give this recipe a try.
