Yield Makes 1 cocktail

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 lemon wheel
1 orange wheel
¾ oz. simple syrup (1:1 sugar:water)
3 oz. amontillado sherry
Garnish: berries in season, citrus, mint, a Lego minifig-anything, really

Steps:

  • In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, add the lemon, orange, and simple syrup, and muddle. Add the sherry, fill with ice, and shake. Finely strain into a Collins glass over crushed ice. Top up with additional crushed ice and garnish like there's no tomorrow.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe blackberries for the best flavor.
  • If you don't have blackberries, you can substitute another type of berry, such as strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries.
  • Make sure the sherry you use is a good quality one. A dry sherry is best, but you can also use a sweeter sherry if you prefer.
  • If you don't have a cobbler dish, you can use a 9-inch pie plate or a 13x9-inch baking dish.
  • Serve the cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

Sherry cobbler is a classic summer dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. The combination of sweet and tart blackberries, rich sherry, and buttery biscuits is simply irresistible. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy dessert, give sherry cobbler a try.
