Categories     Salad     Thanksgiving     Bacon

Yield 12

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 Head Lettuce
1 cup chopped bell pepper
1 pkg. frozen peas - uncooked
1 Tbsp. sugar
1-1 1/2 cup of mayo
8 strips of crumbled bacon
1 cup chopped celery
1 1/2 chopped onion
2 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Arrange vegetables in layers. DO NOT TOSS. Spread mayo on top. Sprinkle with sugar and cheese. Cove and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Sprinkle bacon on top just before serving.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your salad will taste. Choose crisp, tender peas, fresh herbs, and a creamy, tangy dressing.
  • Don't overcook the peas: Peas should be cooked until they are tender but still have a slight bite to them. Overcooked peas will become mushy and lose their flavor.
  • Chill the salad before serving: This will help the flavors to meld and the salad will be more refreshing.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs: Fresh herbs, such as parsley, chives, or dill, will add a pop of color and flavor to your salad.
  • Serve with a crusty bread or crackers: This will help to soak up the dressing and make a delicious meal.

Conclusion:

Seven-layer pea salad is a classic summer dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its creamy dressing, crunchy vegetables, and tangy cheese, it is the perfect side dish for any potluck or barbecue. So next time you are looking for a refreshing and delicious salad, give this seven-layer pea salad a try. You won't be disappointed!
