Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before starting, measure and prepare all ingredients. Cut the shrimp into uniform sizes for even cooking. Devein the shrimp if desired.
  • Use Fresh, Quality Shrimp: Fresh shrimp will yield the best flavor and texture. If using frozen shrimp, thaw them properly before cooking.
  • Season the Shrimp: Marinate the shrimp in the sesame-soy mixture for at least 15 minutes before cooking. This helps infuse flavor into the shrimp.
  • Cook the Shrimp Properly: Do not overcrowd the pan when cooking the shrimp. Cook them in batches if necessary. Shrimp should be cooked until they turn pink and opaque, and no longer have a translucent appearance.
  • Add Vegetables Towards the End: Add the vegetables towards the end of the cooking process so that they retain their crunch.
  • Use Fresh, Vibrant Vegetables: Fresh, colorful vegetables will add flavor and visual appeal to the stir-fry.
  • Sauce Consistency: Adjust the consistency of the sauce by adding more water or cornstarch slurry as needed. The sauce should be thick enough to coat the shrimp and vegetables, but not too thick that it becomes gloopy.
  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish the stir-fry with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, or cilantro for added flavor and color. Serve immediately with steamed rice or noodles.

Conclusion:

This sesame shrimp stir-fry is a quick, easy, and flavorful dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. With its combination of tender shrimp, crisp vegetables, and a savory sesame-soy sauce, this stir-fry is sure to be a hit with the whole family. Follow the tips above to ensure the best results, and enjoy this delicious and satisfying meal!
