Time 25m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 cups water
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granule
1 cup uncooked long grain rice
2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine the water, butter and bouillon.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add rice, soy sauce, minced onion, onion powder, basil, marjoram, and thyme.
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer for about 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the final dish will be. Choose fresh herbs, vegetables, and rice.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the rice, make sure there is enough space for the grains to move around and cook evenly. If the pan is too crowded, the rice will steam instead of fry.
  • Cook the rice until it is tender: The rice should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it. Overcooked rice will be mushy and unpleasant.
  • Season the rice to taste: Once the rice is cooked, season it with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices to taste. You can also add vegetables, meat, or seafood to the rice for a more flavorful dish.
  • Serve the rice immediately: Savory herb rice is best served immediately after it is cooked. Leftover rice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Conclusion:

Savory herb rice is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a side dish or a main course. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. With its combination of herbs, vegetables, and rice, savory herb rice is a healthy and flavorful meal that is sure to please everyone at the table.
