SAVORY SKILLET BURGERS

Savory Skillet Burgers image

A last-minute quick meal turned into a family favorite. Best homemade skillet burgers I have ever had and they are surprisingly not too bad for you! Making them into sliders on lightly toasted sourdough is an amazing gourmet treat for guests! My boyfriend got out the ketchup, and after one bite of these burgers he put the ketchup away. These burgers are perfect as-is--you don't even need buns!

Time 50m

Yield 3

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pound ground beef
½ cup beer
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion salt
freshly ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Shape the ground beef into three patties. Place the patties in a shallow dish.
  • Combine the beer, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion salt, and pepper. Pour the marinade over the burgers. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Flip the burgers over and marinate for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  • Place the patties on the hot grill and cook for 2 minutes before flipping them over. Cook the burgers to the desired degree of doneness, about 5 minutes per side for well done. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Nutrition Facts : Calories 313.2 calories, Carbohydrate 6.8 g, Cholesterol 94.6 mg, Fat 18.2 g, Fiber 0.1 g, Protein 25.9 g, SaturatedFat 7.2 g, Sodium 613.3 mg, Sugar 2.5 g

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality ground beef. A good burger starts with good beef. Look for ground beef that is at least 80% lean, and make sure it is fresh.
  • Don't overwork the beef. When you mix the ingredients together, do it gently and don't overwork the beef. Overworking the beef will make the burgers tough.
  • Season the beef well. Season the beef generously with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs and spices. This will help to give the burgers flavor.
  • Form the burgers gently. When you form the burgers, do it gently and don't pack them too tightly. This will help to prevent the burgers from being dry.
  • Cook the burgers over medium heat. Cook the burgers over medium heat, so that they have time to cook evenly without burning.
  • Let the burgers rest before serving. After you cook the burgers, let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the burgers, making them juicier and more flavorful.

Conclusion:

By following these tips, you can make delicious and flavorful herb-marinated burgers that your family and friends will love. These burgers are perfect for a summer cookout or a casual weeknight meal. You can also get creative with the toppings and sides. So experiment and have fun!
