Cheddar cheese and sweet cranberries complement each other in these little muffins, bringing sharp, sweet and tart flavors together in a single bite. All-purpose flour can be substituted for the whole wheat pastry flour if desired. If making regular size muffins, the recipe makes one dozen. Allow longer baking time for larger muffins.

  • Bake muffins 15 minutes, brush tops again with butter.
  • Continue baking until golden on top about 12 minutes longer.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all your ingredients and tools ready. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling during the process.
  • Use Fresh, High-Quality Ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will directly impact the taste of your muffins. Opt for fresh herbs, sharp cheeses, and plump cranberries to ensure the best flavor.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing can result in tough, dense muffins. Mix just until the ingredients are combined and avoid overworking the batter.
  • Fill the Muffin Tins Properly: Aim to fill each muffin tin about ⅔ full. This will allow the muffins to rise properly without overflowing.
  • Bake at the Correct Temperature: Follow the recipe's recommended baking temperature and time closely. Ovens can vary, so use a toothpick to check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested time.

Conclusion:

These savory cheese, cranberry, and herb mini muffins are a delightful treat that combines the perfect balance of flavors and textures.
