1/2 large onion - chopped
1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1/8 tsp. organic cayenne pepper
salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet and on moderate heat. Add the onions and sauté, stirring often, until they are golden, and caramelized about 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Add string beans (while still wet).
  • Add cayenne pepper. Cover the pan and lower the heat to simmer. This will also steam the beans while simmering.
  • Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add salt, fresh cracked pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
  • Taste the beans for tenderness, then remove and transfer to a bowl. Serve.

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
1 pinch salt
4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium onion, finely diced
1 shallot, chopped
½ teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon soy sauce
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Fill a stockpot with water and bring to a boil over high heat. Add green beans and 1 pinch salt; boil until tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Drain beans in a colander and rinse with cold water. Blot dry using paper towels.

1 onion (peeled and sliced)

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Trim the ends of the green beans and add to a pot of boiling water. Cook on high heat for approximately 10 minutes or until the beans are fork tender. Drain.
  • While the beans are cooking, Add 2 tablespoons of the olive oil to a skillet or cast iron pan along with the peeled and sliced onions. Saute for about 10 minutes until the onions are lightly caramelized.
