Steps:
- 1. Cook sausage, mashing into very small pieces. Drain. Combine with cream cheese until well mixed. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Warm tortillas a couple at a time in the microwave (don't leave long, they will be hard). Spread a heaping tablespoon of mixture on the warm tortilla and spread all over, roll up like jelly roll and place in pan, seam side down. Continue until all are rolled. I like to cover mine and refrigerate over night, they cut better. But if you don't have time that is ok. Slice into 3/4 inch slices and place on plate. Continue until all are sliced.
Tips:
- Choose high-quality ingredients: Use fresh vegetables, flavorful sausage, and a good quality cheese blend. This will make a big difference in the overall taste of the dish.
- Season the sausage well: Don't be afraid to add plenty of spices and herbs to the sausage filling. This will give it a delicious flavor that will shine through in the finished dish.
- Don't overcook the sausage: Cook the sausage until it is just cooked through, but not so long that it becomes dry and tough.
- Use a variety of vegetables: Feel free to add other vegetables to the filling, such as bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms.
- Be careful when rolling up the tortillas: Roll the tortillas up tightly, but not so tightly that they crack.
- Bake the tortilla roll-ups until they are golden brown: This will give them a crispy exterior and a gooey, melted interior.
Conclusion:
Sausage tortilla roll-ups are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for parties or potlucks, and they can also be made ahead of time and reheated later. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of effort, you can create a dish that everyone will love.
