CROCKPOT CREAM CHEESE, SAUSAGE & ROTEL DIP RECIPE - (3.6/5)

Crockpot Cream Cheese, Sausage & Rotel Dip Recipe - (3.6/5) image

Provided by bridgetinma

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 (8-ounce) block of cream cheese
1 can tomatoes and green chiles (aka Rotel), drained
1 pound breakfast sausage, browned and drained

Steps:

  • Brown the sausage on the stove, and drain on paper towels. Unwrap the cream cheese, and put it into your crockpot. Chop up the sausage and add on top. Drain the Rotel, and add it. Cover and cook on low for about 90 minutes, or on high for 45. Stir well and eat with tortilla chips.

Tips:

  • Choose the Right Sausage: For a classic flavor, opt for a mild or medium breakfast sausage. If you prefer a spicier dip, choose a hot or spicy breakfast sausage or even chorizo.
  • Use Quality Cheese: The type of cheese you use can greatly impact the flavor of your dip. Use a good quality cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack, or a blend of both for a creamy and flavorful dip.
  • Don't Overcook the Sausage: Overcooked sausage can become dry and tough. Cook the sausage until it is just cooked through, but still slightly juicy.
  • Drain the Fat: Before adding the sausage to the dip, drain any excess fat. This will help to prevent the dip from becoming greasy.
  • Use a Slow Cooker for Easy Cooking: If you're short on time, you can make this dip in a slow cooker. Simply brown the sausage in a skillet, then add it to the slow cooker along with the other ingredients. Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the dip is bubbly and hot.

Conclusion:

Sausage Rotel dip is a delicious and versatile appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy texture, spicy flavor, and cheesy goodness, it's sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering. Whether you serve it with tortilla chips, crackers, or vegetables, this dip is sure to satisfy your cravings.
