Tips:

  • Choose your sausage wisely: Different types of sausage will impart different flavors to the dish. For a classic Italian flavor, use sweet or hot Italian sausage. For a more smoky flavor, try kielbasa or chorizo. And for a spicy kick, opt for spicy Italian sausage or Andouille.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the sausage and broccoli, be sure to give them enough space in the pan so that they can brown properly. If the pan is too crowded, the food will steam instead of brown.
  • Use a flavorful cooking liquid: The cooking liquid that you use will add a lot of flavor to the dish. Chicken broth or vegetable broth are both good options, but you can also use white wine or even apple cider.
  • Simmer until the sauce has thickened: Once you've added the cooking liquid, let the dish simmer until the sauce has thickened. This will help to develop the flavors and create a rich, flavorful sauce.
  • Serve with your favorite sides: Sausage and broccoli simmer can be served with a variety of sides, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta. You can also serve it with a side salad or a crusty bread roll.

Conclusion:

Sausage and broccoli simmer is an easy and delicious meal that is perfect for a busy weeknight. It's hearty and flavorful, and it can be served with a variety of sides. Plus, it's a great way to use up leftover sausage. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give sausage and broccoli simmer a try.
