Tips:

  • Use flavorful sausage: Choose a sausage with a lot of flavor, such as Italian sausage, chorizo, or kielbasa. This will help to give the stovie a rich and savory taste.
  • Don't overcook the sausage: Sausage is best when it is cooked through but still slightly pink in the center. Overcooking it will make it dry and tough.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: The more vegetables you use, the more flavorful and nutritious the stovie will be. Some good choices include potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, and bell peppers.
  • Season the stovie well: Be generous with the salt and pepper, and add other seasonings to taste. Some good options include garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme.
  • Simmer the stovie until the vegetables are tender: This will help to develop the flavors and create a thick, flavorful sauce.
  • Serve the stovie hot: Sausage and vegetable stovie is best served hot, with a side of crusty bread or mashed potatoes.

Conclusion:

Sausage and vegetable stovie is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover sausage and vegetables. With a few simple tips, you can make a stovie that is flavorful, hearty, and satisfying.
