JOLEAN'S CHEESE POTATO & SMOKED SAUSAGE CASSEROLE

Jolean's Cheese Potato & Smoked Sausage Casserole image

This was another one of our favorites in the 70's Very inexpensive and very easy to make. Just recently found this recipe hand-written by my Mom, and the warm feelings flood back to me, because this was a true favorite in our house. Little did I know that she was on such a tight budget, yet made things like this that we all loved!! NOTE: The meat that was used in this recipe always varied, according to whatever we had available at the time.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the quality of your ingredients, the better your casserole will taste. Choose fresh, flavorful sausage, cheese, and potatoes.
  • Don't overcook the potatoes: The potatoes should be tender but still slightly firm. If you overcook them, they will become mushy and the casserole will be less flavorful.
  • Use a good cheese: The cheese is one of the most important ingredients in this casserole. Choose a cheese that melts well and has a strong flavor. Cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan are all good choices.
  • Season the casserole well: Don't be afraid to add some salt and pepper to the casserole. This will help to enhance the flavor of the other ingredients.
  • Let the casserole rest before serving: This will allow the flavors to meld together and the casserole to set. Serve the casserole warm with your favorite side dishes.

Conclusion:

Sausage and Cheese Potato Casserole is a hearty, comforting, and delicious dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you are looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal or a special dish to serve at a holiday gathering, Sausage and Cheese Potato Casserole is sure to please everyone at the table.
