To me it is a perfect little coffee cake, and makes up so quick and easy. It needs no frosting, and is a nice moist little cake.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: For the best flavor and texture, use a variety of apples that are firm and tart, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • Peel and core the apples thinly: This will help the apples to cook evenly and prevent them from becoming mushy.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the apples into thin slices: This will help them to cook quickly and evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the apples, make sure to leave enough space between them so that they can cook evenly.
  • Stir the apples frequently: This will help to prevent them from sticking to the pan and burning.
  • Cook the apples until they are tender but still hold their shape: You don't want them to become mushy.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the cake tough.
  • Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This will ensure that the cake is cooked through.
  • Let the cake cool completely before serving: This will help the cake to set and make it easier to slice.
