Steps:
- Start the grill, allowing it to reach a temperature of 250 degrees, or pre heat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large skillet, cook the sausage and onion over medium-high heat for 5 to 6 minutes until the sausage is browned and the onion softened. Add the pork and cook for 2 to 3 minutes longer until the meat is just heated through. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine the pork and beans, sauce, molasses, seasoning mix, and liquid smoke, if using. Stir well and transfer to a deep casserole. The casserole should be large enough to hold the mixture so that it is no deeper than 4 inches and no shallower than 2 inches. Add the sausage-pork mixture and stir well.
- Cook on the grill, uncovered, for 3 1/2-hours, or in the oven, covered, for 2 1/2-hours until hot and bubbling and the flavors are well blended.
SASSY & SPICY THREE BEAN DIP
This is my first recipe post! I came up with it when I was trying to duplicate my favorite spicy bean dip that is no longer sold at my grocery store. Everyone LOVES this dip and I am asked to make all the time. The only complaint is that there is never enough! It is pretty easy to make as you just throw all the ingredients into a food processor. It can be used as a filling for burritos, tacos or tostadas as well. I sometimes add half a can (15 oz)of Vegitarian Medium Chili to the food processor as well (for the texture of the TVP). Adjust the heat to your liking. Hope you enjoy! Adios!

Steps:
- Place all ingredients except Jalapenos into food processor and blend until smooth.
- Fold in Diced Jalapenos.
- Taste and adjust hot sauces to pleasant temperature.
- Garnish with cheese and cilantro leaves.
- Serve with chips or put inside a burrito or taco or on a tostada.
Tips:
- Soak the beans overnight: This will help to reduce the cooking time and make the beans more digestible.
- Use a variety of beans: Different beans have different flavors and textures, so using a mix can create a more interesting dish.
- Add aromatics to the cooking liquid: Aromatics such as garlic, onion, and celery can help to add flavor to the beans.
- Season the beans well: Beans can handle a lot of seasoning, so don't be afraid to add salt, pepper, and other spices to taste.
- Cook the beans until they are tender but still hold their shape: Overcooked beans will become mushy and lose their flavor.
Conclusion:
Sassy beans are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed in many different ways. Whether you serve them as a main course, a side dish, or a snack, these beans are sure to please everyone at the table. With a little planning and preparation, you can easily make sassy beans at home. So next time you're looking for a flavorful and satisfying meal, give sassy beans a try!
