7 LAYER BEAN DIP

7 Layer Bean Dip image

This 7 layer bean dip is great for Super Bowl parties, work parties, other gatherings! Pretty easy to make...you can use store bought guacamole if you can't find ripe avocados.

Provided by Marilee

Categories     Mexican

Time 30m

Yield 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

3 medium ripe avocados, peeled, cored, mashed
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
taco seasoning mix
2 (8 ounce) cans bean dip
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 bunch green onion, chopped
1 (3 ounce) can black olives (sliced or chopped)
1 (8 ounce) package shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Mix avocados, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, and taco seasoning mix.
  • Layer ingredients as follows.
  • Bottom layer: Bean Dip.
  • Second layer: Avocado mixture.
  • Third layer: Sour cream mixture.
  • Fourth layer: Tomatoes.
  • Fifth layer: Onions.
  • Sixth layer: Olives.
  • Seventh layer: Cheese (I like to use Colby Jack cheese).
  • Top with extra sour cream/olives/salsa, etc. if desired.
  • Serve with tortilla chips.
  • **This seems to be a little bit better if you can chill it for a few hours or over night to let the flavors intensify**.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh beans, vegetables, and herbs will give your dip the best flavor.
  • Don't overcook the beans: Overcooked beans will be mushy and bland. Cook them until they are just tender.
  • Use a variety of beans: Different beans have different flavors and textures, so using a variety will give your dip more depth.
  • Season the dip well: Don't be afraid to add plenty of spices and herbs. A well-seasoned dip will be more flavorful and interesting.
  • Let the dip chill: Chilling the dip will allow the flavors to meld together and will make it easier to scoop.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of dippers: Tortilla chips, crackers, and vegetables are all great options.

Conclusion:

Sandie's Seven-Layer Bean Dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy refried beans, flavorful cheese, and fresh vegetables, this dip is sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give Sandie's Seven-Layer Bean Dip a try. You won't be disappointed!
