Tips:
- Use a food processor to crush the saltine crackers into fine crumbs. This will help the crust stick together better.
- If you don't have a food processor, you can place the crackers in a large resealable bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
- For a richer crust, use melted butter instead of vegetable oil.
- Be sure to press the crust firmly into the pie plate. This will help it stay together when you fill it with the pie filling.
- When making the pie filling, be sure to use fresh fruit. This will give the pie the best flavor.
- If you are using frozen fruit, be sure to thaw it completely before using it. This will help the pie filling thicken properly.
- If you want a sweeter pie, add more sugar to the pie filling. You can also add a pinch of salt to balance out the sweetness.
- Be sure to bake the pie until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will help the filling set and the pie will be easier to slice.
