Number Of Ingredients 12

potatoes cut into fries
1/2 c vinegar any kind, use enough to make it taste like vinegar when you add the water

salt make the solution very salty
pepper as much as you like
garlic powder as much as you like
1 Tbsp olive oil
DIPPING SAUCE
1 Tbsp dijon mustard
2-3 Tbsp ketchup
1/8 tsp sriracha chili sauce
THIS RECIPE DID NOT TURN OUT RIGHT I ONLY SOAKED THEM 4 HOUR AND THEY DID NOT TASTE LIKE VINEGAR. LEAVE ANY THOUGHT OR SUGGESTIONS IN THE COMMENTS THANKS

Steps:

  • 1. Put the cut fries into the vinegar solution and add a tbsp. of oil and mix.
  • 2. Cover and put in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
  • 3. Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown.

Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Use russet potatoes for the best results. They have a high starch content, which makes them crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: This will ensure that they cook evenly. Aim for fries that are about 1/2-inch thick.
  • Soak the potatoes in water: This will help to remove excess starch and make the fries crispier. Soak the potatoes for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Dry the potatoes thoroughly: Before frying the potatoes, make sure they are completely dry. This will help to prevent them from sticking together.
  • Use a high-quality oil: Choose an oil with a high smoke point, such as vegetable oil or canola oil. This will prevent the oil from burning and smoking.
  • Fry the potatoes in batches: Do not overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the potatoes from cooking evenly.
  • Season the fries immediately: After frying, season the fries with salt and vinegar while they are still hot. This will help the seasoning to stick.

Conclusion:

Salt and vinegar fries are a classic snack that is easy to make at home. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can enjoy delicious, crispy fries that are perfect for any occasion. So next time you're craving a salty and tangy snack, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
