Tips:

  • Choose high-quality salmon: Opt for wild-caught or sustainably farmed salmon for the best flavor and texture.
  • Brine the salmon: Brining the salmon helps keep it moist and flavorful during cooking. You can use a simple brine made with water, salt, and sugar, or add herbs and spices for extra flavor.
  • Preheat your grill: Make sure your grill is preheated to the desired temperature before cooking the salmon. This will help prevent the salmon from sticking to the grates.
  • Use a cedar plank: Cooking salmon on a cedar plank imparts a delicious smoky flavor. If you don't have a cedar plank, you can use a foil packet or a baking sheet.
  • Cook the salmon to the right temperature: The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare, 155°F (68°C) for medium, and 165°F (74°C) for well-done.

Conclusion:

Cooking salmon on the barbecue is a great way to enjoy this delicious and healthy fish. By following these tips, you can achieve perfectly cooked salmon that is moist, flavorful, and flaky. Whether you choose to grill the salmon on a cedar plank, in a foil packet, or on a baking sheet, you'll end up with a delicious meal that everyone will enjoy.
