J-LYN'S AWESOME SALMON CASSEROLE

J-Lyn's Awesome Salmon Casserole image

I improvised this salmon casserole with items I had on hand in my pantry. I've never been big on casseroles (if you've had my mom's cooking, you'd understand why), but they are definitely an easy way to use up items that would otherwise be sitting in the pantry forever. This recipe is simple enough; feel free to add or supplement as you see fit!

Tips:

  • Choose the right salmon: Use fresh or frozen salmon fillets that are boneless and skinless. If using frozen salmon, thaw it completely before cooking.
  • Season the salmon well: Before baking, season the salmon with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs and spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the fish.
  • Use a creamy sauce: The creamy sauce in this casserole helps to keep the salmon moist and flavorful. You can use a variety of different sauces, such as Alfredo sauce, béchamel sauce, or a simple mixture of milk and cream.
  • Add vegetables: Vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots can be added to the casserole for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Cook until the salmon is flaky: The salmon should be cooked until it is flaky and easily flakes with a fork. Overcooking will make the salmon dry and tough.

Conclusion:

This salmon and rice casserole is an easy and delicious weeknight meal that the whole family will love. The salmon is cooked to perfection in a creamy sauce, and the rice is fluffy and flavorful. This casserole is also a great way to sneak in some extra vegetables. With just a few simple ingredients, you can have a delicious and satisfying meal on the table in no time.
