1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes with basil, oregano and garlic, undrained
1 can (8 ounces) Italian tomato sauce

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into four oval patties. In a large skillet, brown patties in oil on both sides. Drain., In a small bowl, combine diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Pour over patties. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. ½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 pounds beef round steak, cut 1-inch thick
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
¼ cup water, or as needed
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
½ cup minced green bell pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

4 slices bacon
1 medium red bell pepper
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1 large yellow onion, sliced
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
1/3 cup Burgundy wine or 1/3 cup red wine
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crumbled

Steps:

  • In a large skillet cook bacon over moderatly-high heat;cook until crisp and browned, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer bacon to paper towels and set aside; reserve drippings in the skillet.
  • Core and seed the bell pepper; cut into strips, add mushrooms, onions and bell pepper to the drippings in the skillet; cook stirring frequently, until crisp tender, about 4 minutes.
