BROKEN GLASS SALAD

Broken Glass Salad image

This salad creates a beautiful display in a clear glass bowl. It uses three different colors of jello which are covered in a creamy, sweet pineapple, lemon sauce. It is a holiday favorite. I received this from my friend, June. Chill time should include allowing jello to set and then allowing the whole dessert to chill for 5-8 hours or overnight.

PERFECT SUMMER FRUIT SALAD

Perfect Summer Fruit Salad image

The perfect fruit salad for a backyard bbq or any occasion. There are never leftovers! This is one of my favorite fruit salad recipes, as I think the sauce really makes it. This salad is tastier the longer you can let it soak in its juices. I prefer 3 to 4 hours in the refrigerator before I serve it. Enjoy.

Time 3m

Yield 2 cups, 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 head romaine lettuce
1 tomatoes
2 celery ribs
1 carrot, topped
1 small red bell pepper

Steps:

  • Juice together all veggies.
  • Add salt/pepper to taste if you wish.

Tips:

  • Choose a variety of greens: Use a mix of hearty greens like kale or spinach with tender greens like lettuce or arugula for a salad that's both nutritious and delicious.
  • Add color and crunch: Include colorful vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, and bell peppers for a visually appealing salad. Nuts and seeds add a crunchy texture and healthy fats.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs like basil, cilantro, or mint add a burst of flavor to salads. You can also use dried herbs, but fresh herbs have a more intense flavor.
  • Make a flavorful dressing: A simple vinaigrette made with olive oil, vinegar, and Dijon mustard is a classic salad dressing. You can also try other dressings, such as a creamy avocado dressing or a tangy citrus dressing.
  • Layer the ingredients: Layer the ingredients in the glass jar in the order you want to eat them. This will ensure that the dressing doesn't soak into the greens and make them soggy.
  • Use a wide-mouth jar: A wide-mouth jar is easier to fill and eat from than a narrow-mouth jar.

Conclusion:

Salad in a glass jar is a healthy and convenient way to enjoy a delicious salad. With a little planning, you can create a salad that's both nutritious and delicious. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy lunch or snack, try making a salad in a glass jar.
