RUBY CRANBERRY VANILLA SAUCE

Ruby Cranberry Vanilla Sauce image

This is almost jam-like in consistency and has such a knock-out flavor from its simplicity. You can be versatile with flavorings (rum, brandy, vodka, lemon, lime, or orange peel) and this can be used to fill doughnuts, cupcakes, cookies, or heated and served over pound cakes or cheesecakes. ...It happens to marry well with French Toast and pancakes (gingerbread pancakes with warm maple syrup, a little whipped cream, a touch of orange zest, and mugs of hot cocoa creates a very beautiful sensation in our kitchen on cold Sunday mornings!)

RICH VANILLA SAUCE

Rich Vanilla Sauce image

Okay, so my husband decided to make crepes with raspberries and vanilla sauce for me and the kids for Valentine's Day... but he couldn't find a recipe that he liked for vanilla sauce. And let it be said that I am a HUGE vanilla sauce fan... I could eat it all by itself with a spoon! Let me just say that the vanilla sauce that he came up with was absolutely divine! I tried to drag the recipe out of him to post and this is what I got... just keep in mind that he's not the best at measuring things.... "a little bit of this and a little bit of that" technique! Hope I got it right :^)

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients and equipment ready. This will help ensure a smooth cooking process and prevent any scrambling for forgotten ingredients.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh cranberries, ruby port, and vanilla beans will yield the best flavor and texture in your sauce. If you can't find fresh cranberries, frozen cranberries can be used instead.
  • Simmer, Don't Boil: When cooking the sauce, make sure to simmer it gently over low heat. Boiling the sauce will cause it to lose its delicate flavor and color.
  • Strain the Sauce: After cooking, strain the sauce through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any solids. This will give you a smooth and silky sauce.
  • Chill the Sauce: Before serving, chill the sauce for at least 2 hours. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.

Conclusion:

This ruby cranberry vanilla sauce is a delicious and versatile condiment that can elevate a variety of dishes. Whether you're serving it with roasted turkey, grilled chicken, or pancakes, this sauce is sure to impress. With its vibrant color, tangy-sweet flavor, and smooth texture, this sauce is sure to become a new family favorite. So next time you're looking for a special sauce to add to your meal, give this ruby cranberry vanilla sauce a try. You won't be disappointed!
