1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 to 2 pounds boneless beef top round steak, trimmed and cut into thin strips
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 can (10-1/2 ounces) condensed beef broth, undiluted
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
3 tablespoons chili sauce
1 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
2 cups sour cream
Hot cooked noodles
Minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt, paprika and pepper. Add beef; shake until well coated. , In a large skillet, melt butter. Brown beef in batches. Remove and keep warm. Add onion and garlic to the pan; cook until tender. Add the broth, mustard, chili sauce and mushrooms; return beef to the skillet. Cover and cook until the meat is tender, about 1 hour., Just before serving, stir in sour cream. Heat through, but do not boil. Serve over noodles. Garnish with parsley.

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2-2 lbs beef round steak, trimmed and cut into thin strips
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
1 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
3 tablespoons chili sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 cups sour cream
hot cooked egg noodles
minced fresh parsley (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large resealable plastic bag.
  • Add beef, a few pieces at a time, and shake to coat.
  • Ina a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Brown half the beef at a time; remove.
  • Add onion and garlic; saute until tender.
  • Return beef to the pan.
  • Add broth, chili sauce, mustard, and mushrooms; cover and simmer for 1 hour or until the beef is tender.
  • Stir in sour cream; heat gently but do not boil.
  • Serve immediately over noodles.
  • Garnish with parsley, if desired.

1/2 medium onion (diced)
1 garlic clove (minced)
6 slices bacon (cut into 1-inch pieces)
1 lb round steak (cut into 1/2-inch cubes)
1 (26 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
8 ounces sour cream
16 ounces wide egg noodles (Cooked according to directions on package)
2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In large pot, prepare egg noodles according to directions of package.
  • Heat large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add bacon and cook until lightly crispy.
  • Add garlic and onion. Saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add round steak, paprika, salt, pepper. Cook until meat is lightly brown on the outside. Do not over- cook because it could make the meat tough.
  • Add cream of mushroom soup and 1 can of water. Mix well, bring to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. (Stirring occasionally).
  • Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
  • Pour mixture over cooked egg noodles and serve while hot.
  • Note: May add additional salt and pepper to taste. I like mine with a lot of pepper.

  • Return the steak to the skillet and heat through.
