Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of meat. Round steak is a relatively tough cut of meat, so it's important to choose one that is labeled "for braising" or "for stewing." This will ensure that the meat will become tender when cooked.
  • Brown the meat before braising. This will help to develop flavor and color in the meat.
  • Use a good quality ketchup. The ketchup is the main ingredient in this dish, so it's important to use one that you enjoy the taste of.
  • Add some vegetables to the braising liquid. This will help to add flavor and nutrition to the dish.
  • Cook the meat until it is fall-apart tender. This will usually take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • Serve the round steak with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Round steak in ketchup is a classic comfort food dish that is easy to make and delicious to eat. The simple combination of beef, ketchup, and vegetables creates a flavorful and satisfying meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner.
