5 pounds round steak - cut into 1 inch strips
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, minced
¾ cup distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon white sugar
½ cup ketchup
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown steak strips on all sides. With a slotted spoon, transfer steak strips to a baking dish. Stir garlic into skillet; cook 5 minutes. Add vinegar, sugar, and ketchup. Then stir in mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper; and simmer 3 minutes. Pour sauce over steak strips.
  • Cover baking dish, and bake in a preheated oven for 1 hour. Uncover, and bake for 30 minutes more.

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 pound beef top round steak, cut into four pieces
4 teaspoons canola oil
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 teaspoons prepared mustard

Steps:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt if desired and pepper; dredge the meat. In a large skillet, brown meat on both sides in oil. Remove and keep warm. , In the pan drippings, saute the celery, onion and garlic for 3-4 minutes. Combine the soup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and mustard; stir into the vegetables. 2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
