ROTISSERIE CHICKEN RUB

Rotisserie Chicken Rub image

This is a no-fail yummy rotisserie chicken all-purpose rub! I use this to cook chicken in any manner of ways: oven, grill & crock pot, etc. This also works great on pork loin or chops! Recipe makes 2 1/2 cups of spice/rub blend, but I use at least a 1/4 cup per whole chicken, so it goes fast! Easily made salt-free or lower-salt by omitting or adjusting it. I hope you enjoy this as much as my family does :)

Tips:

  • Generous Seasoning: For maximum flavor, use a generous amount of the rub, ensuring that it covers the entire surface of the chicken.
  • Timing is Key: Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight, to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the meat.
  • High Heat: Preheat the oven to a high temperature (400-450°F) to create a crispy skin and juicy interior.
  • Baste Regularly: Brush the chicken with melted butter or oil during the cooking process to help keep it moist and prevent dryness.
  • Temperature Check: Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh to ensure that the internal temperature reaches 165°F before removing the chicken from the oven.
  • Resting Time: Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before carving to let the juices redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful dish.
