1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters

Twist orange or lemon peel

Strain into a cocktail glass, twist the peel over the drink to release the oil and then drop it in. For a weaker drink, reduce the Scotch to 1 1/2 ounces. In some recipes the bitters are omitted or replaced with orange bitters.

1 c shortening ( i use 1/2 shortening and 1/2 butter
1 1/2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 c sour milk
2 eggs
3/4 tsp soda
1 3/4 c flour
1 1/2 c quick oats (oatmeal)
1 c raisins
1/2 c nuts ( i use walnuts)

Steps:

  • 1. Turn on oven at 350* cream shortening, brown sugar and eggs.
  • 2. Mix dry ingredients together and add alternating with milk. Add oatmeal, raisins and nuts. Mix well
  • 3. Using an ice cream scoop or spoon drop cookies on cookie sheet pan. Bake for 14 min or until done. Don't over cook.
