Time 30m

Yield 3 cups, 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 package whole fresh cranberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup orange juice (any type)
2 -3 cups grapes (red or white)

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in a sauce pot. Cook on high heat until mixture starts to boil. Stirring occasionally until cranberries pop. Lower heat to medium and using the back of a large wooden spoon, squeeze the grapes against the side of pot or use a potato masher to pop grapes, leaving some whole. The pectin from the grapes and sugar will thicken the sauce as well as the heat the reducing the mixture.

Tips:

  • Use fresh or frozen cranberries. Fresh cranberries are available in the fall, but frozen cranberries can be used year-round.
  • Rinse the cranberries before using them. This will remove any dirt or debris.
  • Use a variety of grapes. Red, green, and black grapes all work well in this recipe.
  • Add a little bit of sugar to the sauce. This will help to balance out the tartness of the cranberries.
  • Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Serve the sauce warm or cold. It is delicious either way.

Conclusion:

Roasted Cranberry Grape Sauce is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used to complement a variety of dishes. It is perfect for Thanksgiving dinner, but it can also be enjoyed all year round. Whether you serve it warm or cold, this sauce is sure to be a hit.
