Tips:
- Choose the right potatoes: For the best potato wedges, use a starchy potato variety such as Russet or Yukon Gold. These potatoes will hold their shape well and become crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside when baked.
- Cut the potatoes evenly: To ensure that the potato wedges cook evenly, cut them into uniform sizes. This will help them cook at the same rate and prevent some wedges from becoming overcooked while others are still undercooked.
- Season the potato wedges generously: Don't be shy with the seasonings! A good blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika will give the potato wedges a delicious flavor. You can also add other herbs and spices to taste, such as rosemary, thyme, or chili powder.
- Toss the potato wedges in oil: Before baking, toss the potato wedges in a little bit of oil. This will help them crisp up and prevent them from sticking to the baking sheet.
- Bake the potato wedges at a high temperature: To get crispy potato wedges, bake them at a high temperature (425°F or 220°C) for 20-25 minutes. This will help them develop a golden brown crust and a tender interior.
- Serve the potato wedges hot: Potato wedges are best served hot and crispy. Serve them immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, ranch dressing, or barbecue sauce.
Conclusion:
Oven-baked potato wedges are an easy and delicious side dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or a quick and easy weeknight meal. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make crispy, flavorful potato wedges that will be a hit with everyone at the table.
