Steps:
- Heat oven to 160C/140C fan/gas 3. Grease and line a 2lb/900g loaf tin with a long strip of baking parchment. To make the loaf cake batter, beat the butter and sugar with an electric whisk until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, flour, almonds, baking powder, milk and cocoa until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips, then scrape into the tin. Bake for 45-50 mins until golden, risen and a skewer poked in the centre comes out clean.
- Cool in the tin, then lift out onto a wire rack over some kitchen paper. Melt the extra chocolate chunks separately in pans over barely simmering water, or in bowls in the microwave, then use a spoon to drizzle each in turn over the cake. Leave to set before slicing.

Tips:
- Use good quality chocolate: The chocolate you use will make a big difference in the flavor of your cake. Look for a chocolate with a high cocoa content (70% or more) for a rich, intense flavor.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can make your cake tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the cake in a loaf pan: A loaf pan will help to create a moist, evenly baked cake.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting: This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
Conclusion:
This rich chocolate loaf cake is the perfect dessert for any occasion. It's moist, flavorful, and easy to make. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious cake that will be enjoyed by everyone. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give this chocolate loaf cake a try!
