Time 11m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

6 roma tomatoes
1 yellow onion
1 fresh garlic clove
1 green bell pepper
1/2 red bell pepper
1/2 yellow pepper
4 jalapeno peppers
15 -20 sprigs fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
salt

Steps:

  • Chop tomatoes and dice onions, garlic, peppers and cilantro.
  • Mix ingredients in a bowl.
  • Add fresh lime juice and add a dash of salt.
  • Let chill in fridge for approximately one hour before serving.

Tips:

  • Choose the right tomatoes: Roma tomatoes are the best choice for roasted salsa because they are meaty and have fewer seeds. If you can't find Roma tomatoes, you can use another type of tomato, but be sure to remove the seeds before roasting.
  • Roast the tomatoes at a high temperature: This will help to caramelize the tomatoes and give them a smoky flavor.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When roasting the tomatoes, make sure to spread them out in a single layer on the pan. This will help them to roast evenly.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs, such as cilantro, basil, and oregano, will add a bright and flavorful note to your salsa.
  • Don't blend the salsa too much: You want the salsa to have some texture, so don't blend it until it is completely smooth.
  • Serve the salsa immediately: Roasted salsa is best when served fresh. However, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Roasted salsa is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used on a variety of dishes. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy way to add flavor to your meal, give roasted salsa a try. You won't be disappointed!
