Steps:
- Dissolve cinnamon candies in water in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix in gelatin and allow to dissolve; remove from heat and stir applesauce into mixture. Pour into a serving dish and refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
Tips:
- Use fresh, ripe apples for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh apples, you can use unsweetened applesauce.
- To make the applesauce, you can either peel and core the apples before cooking them, or you can cook them whole and then peel and core them afterwards.
- If you want a smooth applesauce, you can blend it with an immersion blender or in a food processor. If you prefer a chunky applesauce, you can leave it as is.
- Be careful not to overcook the applesauce. It should be cooked until the apples are soft, but not mushy.
- If you are using a sugar substitute, be sure to use one that is heat-stable, such as stevia or monk fruit.
- To make the Jell-O, follow the directions on the package. You will need to dissolve the Jell-O powder in boiling water and then add cold water.
- Once the Jell-O has set, you can add the applesauce and mix it in. You can also add other ingredients, such as whipped cream, nuts, or fruit.
- Serve the Red Hot Applesauce Jell-O chilled.
