Zesty Turkey Tomato Soup image

This chunky soup from Katherine Preiss of Penfield, Pennsylvania is full of flavor...and zip! "If you don't want as much heat, you can eliminate the jalapeno pepper," she notes. "To make it vegetarian, I omit the turkey and add a small can of garbanzo beans in the last few minutes of cooking."

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my soup turned out bland. I'll have to try it again.

I added a few extra vegetables to the soup, like carrots and celery. It made the soup even more hearty and flavorful.

I didn't have any turkey on hand, so I used chicken instead. It turned out just as delicious!

The soup was a bit too spicy for my taste, but I was able to tone it down by adding a little bit of cream.
