Wine-Marinated Strawberries image

I found this recipe in the USA Weekend circular in our local Sunday paper. Serve this with Lemon Cooler Cookies for a refreshing summer dessert.

2 lbs strawberries, hulled and thickly sliced
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups white wine (a fruity wine like Riesling)

Steps:

  • Place strawberries in a medium glass bowl. Sprinkle with sugar, then add wine.
  • Mix gently until sugar dissolves. Let stand for 30 minutes or up to 3 hours.
