Wentelteefjes image

Dutch recipe for bread with cinnamon. You can take the crusts off, but you don't have to. Enjoy, or in Dutch: eet smakelijk!

1 ½ cups milk
1 egg
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon white sugar
8 slices day-old bread
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine milk, egg, cinnamon and sugar. Soak bread in the egg mixture.
  • Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Cook until bread slices are golden brown on both sides. Sprinkle with brown sugar and serve hot.
