I have made this for many years. At Christmas time I replace the blueberries/raspberries with cranberries for a festive look.

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 large sourdough loaf
2 lb brie cheese, trimmed & cubed
1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c pecans, chopped & toasted
1/2 c pine nuts, toasted
1/2 c blueberries
1/2 c raspberries

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Slice the top off the bread. Save the top and hollow out the inside of the loaf by taking out large chunks of bread. Save bread chunks to serve later.
  • 2. Combine brie, nuts, brown sugar and berries. Place inside the hollowed out loaf and cover with the bread top. Wrap the whole thing in foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  • 3. Serve with baguette slices, reserved chunks of bread, crackers or veggies.

The sourdough loaf was the perfect accompaniment to the dip. It was sturdy enough to hold up to the dip, but still soft and fluffy.

The brie was a little runny for my liking, but the dip was still very tasty.

I found this recipe to be a bit too sweet for my taste. I would recommend using less jam or adding some savory ingredients to balance it out.

I used a raspberry jam instead of the blueberry jam and it was amazing! The tartness of the raspberry paired perfectly with the brie.
