VACUUM CLEANER COOKIES image

Neiman-Marcus Squares. I cut this recipe out of the newspaper forever-ago! Don't know when or where. :)) They are gone before the vacuum cleaner can get them!! hahaha. but true!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 c margarine, melted (not butter)
1 box (18-25oz) plain yellow cake mix (not pudding added)
3 eggs
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 box (1-lb) powdered sugar
1/2 c angel flaked coconut
1/2 c walnuts or pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • 1. heat oven 325. Bake 45-50 minutes. 15x10" jellyroll pan, well greased
  • 2. Combine margarine, cake mix and 1 egg. Stir together until dry ingredients are moistened. Pat mixture into bottom of pan.
  • 3. Beat remaining 2 eggs lightly, then beat in cream cheese and powdered sugar. Stir in coconut and nuts. Pour over mixture in jellyroll pan, spreading evenly.
  • 4. Bake until golden brown. Cool pan on wire rack, until room tempture. Cut into squares.
