Unusual & Easy Oven Lasagna image

I have been making my lasagna like this for a long time. I finally got around to posting it. No boiling the noodles ahead of time and the boiled eggs in this make it unique and add texture and flavor if you haven't tried it, it is a very good and EASY lasagna! I know - good lasagna! This is as good as any you will ever have! My...

Time 1h40m

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 lb ground beef
2 large eggs
3 large eggs, hard boiled, coarsely chopped
2 jars of ragu pasta sauce, 23.9 oz each (i used flavored with meat sauce)
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp galic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp parsley flakes
4 c mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
24 oz small curd cottage cheese
16 regular uncooked lasagna noodles (not the no boil kind)
1/4 c water

Steps:

  • 1. Separate the mozzarella cheese in 1 cup, 2 cups and another 1 cup. Set the boiled, chopped eggs aside. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Brown the ground beef and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. Drain the ground beef then add the 2 jars of ragu pasta sauce and the 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and salt. Keep sauce on low while making the cheese and egg mixture.
  • 3. Cheese and egg mixture: In a large bowl, combine the 2 eggs and whisk (not the boiled eggs). Add to it the cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, 1 cup mozzarella and 1 Tablespoon parsley flakes. Mix well.
  • 4. Now you are ready to assemble. Spray your 9x13 baking pan. Make sure it is a deep one. Layer 4 uncooked lasagna noodles in the bottom. If you have to over lap a little, that's ok.
  • 5. On top of the noodles, add 2 cups of the meat sauce, then on top of the noodles add (half) of the cheese and egg mixture. Now sprinkle (half) of the chopped boiled eggs on top.
  • 6. Layer two: add 4 more lasagna noodles, top with 2 cups of the meat sauce and then top with 2 cups mozzarella cheese.
  • 7. Layer three: another 4 uncooked noodles, top with 1 1/2 cups of the meat sauce and the rest of the cheese and egg mixture.
  • 8. Last layer: 4 more noodles, then top with the remaining meat sauce and sprinkle the rest of the chopped boiled eggs on top.
  • 9. Pour the 1/4 cup water along the sides, inside the pan. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Then take the pan out and add the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and cover back up with the foil and let sit out for 10 minutes. It is important that you let it sit before serving. Easy and Delish!
