Unbeatable Pecan Pie image

Another recipe from "Cotton Country Cookbook".

1 unbaked pie crust
2 tsp butter
3 eggs, beaten
1 c maple syrup
1/2 c sugar
1/3 c butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. In a heavy skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over low heat. Add nuts and stir for about 5 minutes or until nuts begin to color. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  • 3. Mix together the beaten eggs, maple syrup, sugar, 1/3 cup melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir in the cooled nuts.
  • 4. Pour filling into crust. Bake 45 - 50 minutes or until filling is set. Cool before cutting.
