Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

5 large baking potatoes (about 2 3/4 pounds total)
Light vegetable oil cooking spray
2 large egg whites
1 T. Cajun spice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice each potato lengthwise into 1/4-inch ovals, then slice each oval lengthwise into matchsticks. Coat a baking sheet with 3 sprays of the vegetable oil. Combine the egg whites and Cajun spice in a bowl. Add the matchstick potatoes and mix to coat. Pour the coated potatoes onto the prepared bakingsheet and spread them out onto a single layer, leaving a little space between. Place the baking sheet on the bottom shelf of the oven. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the fries are crispy, turning them every 6-8 minutes with a spatula so that they brown evenly. Serve immediately.

These fries were a bit bland for my taste. I think I'll add some more seasoning next time.

I'm not a big fan of oven-baked fries, but these were actually really good. They were crispy and flavorful, and they didn't taste dry at all.

These oven-baked fries were a hit with my family! They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just like traditional French fries. I loved that they were healthier than the fried version, and they were just as delicious.
