Instead of plain ol' tuna-salad-sandwiches for lunch, try this variation. Also great when you need a light, fast dinner. This recipe easily cuts in half, to serve just 1 or 2.

Time 13m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 (6 1/2 ounce) cans tuna in water, drained
2 eggs, beaten
1 carrot, scraped and finely grated
1/4 cup italian-style seasoned dry bread crumb
1 green onion, finely sliced
2 tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley
1 pinch cayenne pepper
4 teaspoons olive oil
4 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine tuna, eggs, carrot, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley and cayenne; shape mixture into four patties.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Saute tuna patties for four to five minutes on each side; turn carefully as they easily fall apart.
  • Serve on hamburger buns (really nice if toasted) with your choice of condiments; I recommend lettuce leaves and mayonnaise.

The patties fell apart when I tried to flip them. I think I didn't cook them long enough.

These burgers were a bit bland for my taste. I think I'll add some more spices next time.

I love that these burgers are made with healthy ingredients like tuna and whole wheat bread crumbs. They're also really easy to make, which is a bonus.

These burgers were a nice change from the usual beef burgers. The tuna patties were light and flaky, and the lemon-herb sauce was a perfect complement.

I've made these tuna patty burgers several times now and they're always a hit with my family. The patties are moist and flavorful, and the bread crumbs add a nice crispy texture.

These tuna patty burgers are a delicious and easy weeknight meal. They're packed with flavor and the patties held together perfectly. I served them on toasted buns with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce.
