Traditional Mojitos image

Two steps and 10 minutes are all you need to make these traditional mojitos - a flavorful Cuban beverage.

2 tablespoons tightly packed fresh mint leaves
1 small lime, cut into 4 wedges
1/2 cup light rum
4 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 cups small ice cubes
1/2 cup club soda
Additional fresh mint leaves

Steps:

  • In each of 2 highball glasses, muddle (crush together) about 1 tablespoon mint leaves with juice squeezed from 2 lime wedges. Add lime wedges to glasses; muddle. Stir 1/4 cup of the rum and 2 tablespoons sugar into each glass. Mix well to dissolve sugar. Add about 3/4 cup ice to each.
  • Pour 1/4 cup club soda into each glass; stir well. Garnish with mint.
