Tomato Summer Squash Soup image

This is a great recipe to use food from the summer garden. Although the recipe calls for canned tomatoes, one could add 2 cups fresh tomatoes. I used canned tomatoes with basil, oregano & garlic seasoning. I also sauteed the vegetables in olive oil instead of the broth. DH said this is great! This soup is a great base recipe. I like to add different vegetables and spices to it, depending on what I have on hand.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my soup turned out really bitter. I think I might have used a bad batch of tomatoes.

Overall, I thought this soup was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either.

This soup is a bit too sweet for me. I think I'll use less sugar next time.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my soup turned out too watery. I think I'll reduce the amount of liquid next time.

I'm not a huge fan of squash, but this soup changed my mind. The flavors of the tomato and squash were perfectly balanced, and the soup was so creamy and smooth.

This soup was absolutely delicious! I used fresh tomatoes and squash from my garden, and the flavor was amazing. I also added a bit of fresh basil, which really brightened up the dish.
