Toffee Brownie Trifle image

This is from the December 2002 edition of Quick Cooking, I believe. This is so easy and so wonderful! I am not allowed to come to work on my birthday if I don't bring this - I am asked all year long if my birthday is soon just so people can get a taste of this. I end up giving out the recipe every year! (Prep time and serving size are a guess and do not include chilling time).

I used gluten-free brownies and toffee sauce and this trifle was still delicious! It's a great dessert for people with dietary restrictions.

This trifle was a bit too time-consuming for me, but it was worth it in the end. It's definitely a special occasion dessert.

I was disappointed with this recipe. The brownies were dry and the toffee sauce was too runny.

The toffee sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, but the rest of the trifle was delicious.

This trifle was a hit at my party! The combination of toffee and brownies was perfect, and the whipped cream and chocolate shavings added the perfect finishing touch. I will definitely be making this again.
