Number Of Ingredients 3

12 (6- to 7-inch) corn tortillas
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 325°. Lay one tortilla on a cutting surface. Brush one side only with a thin film of vegetable oil, about 1/8 teaspoon. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and oil. Cut the tortillas into the desired size: quarters, sixths, or eighths. 2. Arrange as many tortilla wedges as will fit in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake on the middle rack of the oven about 10 minutes, or until the chips are crisp and lightly browned. Remove the chips from the oven and sprinkle lightly with salt, if desired. Repeat baking until all of the chips have been toasted. Once cooled, store in a sealed plastic bag, or other airtight container, if made ahead. From "1,000 Mexican Recipes." I've tried many recipes for tortilla chips, but this one is my favorite. The chips are always crispy and flavorful. I also love that I can use different types of tortillas to change up the flavor.

These chips are a great snack for parties or get-togethers. They're also a great way to use up leftover tortillas. I usually make a big batch and freeze them so I always have some on hand.

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy these chips were to make. I'm not a very experienced cook, but I was able to follow the recipe easily and the chips turned out great. I'll definitely be making them again.

I love the simplicity of this recipe. It's just a few ingredients and you can customize it to your own taste. I like to add a little bit of cayenne pepper to the oil for a spicy kick.

These chips are a great way to use up leftover tortillas. I usually make a batch when I have a few tortillas that are starting to get stale. They're also a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen.

I've made these chips several times now and they're always delicious. I like to use different types of tortillas, like spinach or whole wheat, to change up the flavor. I also like to add different seasonings to the oil, like garlic powder or paprika.

These chips were a total fail. They were soggy and limp, not crispy at all. I followed the recipe exactly, so I'm not sure what went wrong.

Not bad for a quick snack. I thought they were a little bland, so I added some salt and pepper. Next time I'll try adding some other seasonings, like chili powder or cumin.

These chips were so easy to make and turned out perfectly crispy. I used a mixture of white and yellow corn tortillas and they were both delicious. I also added a little bit of chili powder and garlic powder to the oil for extra flavor. Definitely wi
