2 lbs ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup chopped celery, include leaves
28 ounces diced tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons accent flavor enhancer
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon la. hot sauce
2 (1 lb) cans kidney beans

Steps:

  • break up beef in a dutch oven. add onion, garlic, bell pepper and celery. cook until beef is browned and vegetables are tender. add tomatoes, chili powder, sugar, accent, bay leaf, oregano, basil and hot sauce. cook for 30 minutes. add beans. cook 15 minutes longer.
